Mammatus Clouds

It is a cellular pattern of pouches suspended underneath the base of a cloud that is called Mammatus. They have the appearance of udders, so they are often referred to as mammary clouds. In contrast to the puffs of clouds that rise as a result of the convection of warm air, the characteristic “lumpy” undersides of clouds are generated by cold air sinking down to form the pockets, rather than warm air rising to form the pockets.

Whale Bones Vs Human Hand

Incredibly, the concept of a man’s grabbing hand being modelled after the digging hand of a mole, a horse leg, a porpoise paddle, and a bat wing is not only odd, but also implausible. Following his observations of the phenomenon in 1859, Charles Darwin asks, “What could be crazier than these countless constructions being fashioned after each other and possessing exactly the same bones in exactly the same relative positions?”
