When a queen dies, it’s not uncommon for the bees to become vengeful and agitated. David noted that it was peculiar that this particular hive was so calm, and that they seemed to portray little to no aggression towards him.

For whatever reason, the hives were peaceful towards David. Perhaps it had to do with his loving energy, or the fact that he was taking every precaution to make sure that no other bees would meet a similar fate to the ones who were hit by the spray.

The Double Hive
It’s typical for hives to be built from a collection of honeycombs, each constructed by different groups that have joined together to form a large colony. Strangely enough, this hive was only made up of two honeycombs, both of which were humongous in size.

David felt that this unusual feat would be very interesting to study, so he was further encouraged to make sure they get transported safely to their new home. As he kept looking at the features of the hive, he noticed more interesting details that would be fascinating to study more closely later.
