Gulliver The Gentle Giant
Jimmy Boyle, a convicted murderer and ex-gang member was the mastermind behind this giant statue. While Boyle was serving time at Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow he had decided to bide his time rather creatively and made this rocky work of art called Gulliver the Giant. The giant statue measures 100 feet and was unveiled by Billy Connolly in 1976. Thanks to drones we have this amazing image in which we can see Guliver, otherwise, we would never have got the opportunity to see it as the statue was removed from the Edinburgh field in 2011. Gulliver was so big that its remnants can still be seen on Google Earth.
