Opulent Insults
Tracy described the full damage done to the dress: “She burst the side zipper of the dress and got a dirty footprint on the train.” Tracy was completely justified in her horror and outrage. She could not believe what had happened, how something that took so much time and money to make and acquire had been ruined in an instant. Tracy held what was left of her beautiful gown in her hands, on the verge of tears, while Gina tried to gather her dignity.
No Words
Tracy could not find an insult or scream suitably intense enough to express her outrage. All that she could do was clasp her face in misery, doing her best to stop herself from freaking out. She could feel herself trembling with agony as it felt like a dear friend had been severely injured. Gina had gone to great lengths to upset and put Tracy down, but this was an irredeemable attack. Nothing could make this right.
