Campbell brought in a massive team of workers to help the plane in a position that would allow it to fit into the space he bought easily. Bear in mind, the forest had trees and other stuff to land it safely, certain parts had to be dismantled. However, it was more than simply removing the wings as the team was required to know the full details should the wings need to be replaced.
