Humble Beginnings
Bruce had the ideas already set to reconstruct freight vans to create his perfect home before the thought came about to revamp a huge airplane instead. Seeing he had a passion for recycling, Bruce believed giving an aircraft a “second chance at life” was more worth it than his original plans. The land space was not an issue as he already had a 10-acre space ready for whatever plans he had to carry out. The major problem he now had was the funding – bear in mind he had to purchase the aircraft plus bring it to the select location.
Buying A Plane
As he searched the different areas for the perfect plane, he came across the Boeing 727 in 1999 and decided to purchase it. It cost a whopping $100,000, and, of course, this was a hefty amount to dish out at once. But, this cost was just the start of what would be a hundred more thousands of dollars. So, after purchasing, the next uphill task was to get it from the Athens Airports Olympic Airways to the Hillsboro, Oregon forest.
