Honeybees Cook Hornets
Even though they look alike, Asian giant hornets and Japanese honeybees are not friends, as shown in the picture. Hens are robbing honeybee hives more and more often, and the honeybees can’t fight them off. Honeybees have come up with a unique way to defend themselves against hornets. They form a ball of bees around the hornets and quiver their flying muscles (which makes a lot of heat) until the hornets are gone.
