Chip and Joanna Gaines are “fixer-uppers” who spend all their days earning a decent profit from renovating people’s homes and giving them the dream home they need. The Gaines couple hosts their show on HGTV’s program, Fixer Upper. But, after doing all that fixing for people over the years, when they decided to renovate their own home, it turned out to be a little harder than they thought. It took them a year and six months to complete the home they always dream of for the couple.

A Grand Tour Of Chip And Joannas Dream House
The Couple From Fixer Upper
The Gaines couple is known by millions worldwide for their impressive works in taking peoples’ homes to a new dimension in both looks and feel. Their love story is also amazing as it started way back in 2001.

The Couple From Fixer Upper
Chip saw Joanna’s picture while she stood in her father’s shop and the idea of her becoming his wife materialized in 2003. Since then, the couple always had dreams of renovating and creating a unique family home.
A Farmhouse
In 2012, the couple bought a small farmhouse that had two rooms but, in reality, was relatively small for the family of seven. But they didn’t worry too much about the size as they had their ulterior plans.

A Farmhouse
They purchased the home because it had a lot of land space that they couldn’t seem to pass up. The backdrop was perfect. They now had to make special arrangements to house the seven people.
Full Commitment
They had no idea it would take them a whole 18 months to complete the project. With this much work, they knew they had to get flexible to manage their daily celebrity show.

Full Commitment
During the renovation of their house, they came across many historical gems, such as a document dating back to 1895. They didn’t know how old the house was but the possible story surrounding it impressed Joanna the most.
The House Is Ready
After 18 months of hard work, the little farmhouse was ready to grace the eyes of the world. It was fully upgraded from a two-bedroom to a beautiful home for seven.

The House Is Ready
Joanna wanted to keep the house’s overall look and feel, so she added one major part (master bedroom) and other fittings and fixtures to give the final piece an extraordinary style.
Cool Colors
The couple decided to keep the house in neutral colors by adding full white complemented with some neutral colors. Joanna declared the decision on a blog they created to keep followers up-to-date.

Cool Colors
They kept the house’s visuals in a traditional style but making it pure white accessorized by the wooden beams in place. The nature-themed background gave it the perfect finish.
An Inside Tour
The couple decided they wanted to keep the inside matching up to the outside’s looks in terms of colors. Once you step through the double-door entrance to the hall, you will be greeted with a white and grey color scene of beauty.

An Inside Tour
We knew that the indoors would be a beauty, especially with the taste of elegance Joanna is known for. The finishing was just spectacular, from the metal coat rack lined against the other decor’s wall-art.
Flowing Beauty
The Gaines wanted to create the perfect flow of beauty inside without overdoing the work and making the whole experience too complicated. The works included knocking down some walls and restructuring it to form different designs.

Flowing Beauty
It is believed one of the best features of a home is the kitchen. The Gaines didn’t disappoint as the white ceilings complemented white tiles and black fixtures and fittings to bring up the room’s flow. They also designed a breakfast bar that the family can dine together.
Added a Lounge and Diner
Stepping out of the kitchen will have you in an amazing lounge and diner that the couple created. The room serves many purposes as the family can dine together or relax on the couch for a relaxing moment together.

Added A Lounge And Diner
The accessories Joanna and Chip used in their home complemented the house pretty well. Everything is smoothly in place. After all, now we know why Joanna’s Magnolia Market is doing so well and is very popular among home renovators.
Relaxation in Tune
The lounge spells everything relaxing from the fixtures straight down to the furnishings. After all, with five children who are always busy and about, relaxation is a must for part of the day.

Relaxation In Tune
The Lounge room is fantastic and is everything that beauty has to offer. For another time, Chip and Joanna have proven that style and comfort can be set up in a single arrangement as their experience has made them prove to us.

The Master Bedroom
The farmhouse they purchased was renovated, but the master bedroom was built from scratch to the home. They created it according to the plan they had for their dream home.

The Master Bedroom
The new addition carried a unique and classic look, but Joanna kept many of the old items to help keep the original home’s feel. She let the flooring remain the same as original and a door that was there. However, the master bed was an epitome of true elegance.
Relaxing Space
Chip and Joanna are always on the busy side of life with multiple businesses to manage and run their spin-off TV show. They have five children moving around, so whenever the time comes for relaxing, they are all for it.

As soon as they are off work, this cozy little room is where all their free time goes. They like to get cozy here and spend time unwinding. Besides, whenever the winter season kicks in, the fireplace is lit, and all is well.
The Bathroom
Just as much as the kitchen or any other room is important, so is the bathroom. The en-suite found in the master bedroom is an epitome of what beauty represents, from the unique fixtures to the free-standing luxury tub.

The Bathroom
Joanna has a knack for old doors, and this bathroom shows it clearly. She has spent a lot of time gathering them, and the black lantern fixtures she added carries off the entire room with elegance.

The Girls Room
The color palette stayed in tune for the girls’ room with a white touch instead of the usual pink that many people are used to knowing for girls. It even features a dollhouse with a lot of accent pieces.
The Boy’s Room
The couple has three sons also so indeed, a boys’ room had to be created just the same. Their last child, a son, Crew Gaines, was born in 2018 – their children were also born in a boy-girl-boy fashion.

The Boys Room
The couple’s two oldest sons are Drake, 13 years, and Duke, 10 years, and their room features an adventurous feeling and lots of space for play. There is also an extra bed in the boys’ quarters, indicating that the couple could be planning for a fourth son soon.
Adventure
The boys’ room has just about everything that will keep them occupied and enough to explore and get adventurous. They have play ladders in their room and an explore map to be around the world.

Adventure
The color theme was kept intact throughout the house, and the boys’ room was definitely included. Even though the usual colors for children were not added, their rooms were definitely child-friendly nonetheless.

Working At Home
There is enough space to work throughout the home without taking away the space needed for family time. Chip and Joanna both live a practical and functional life, ensuring their home represents the same.
A Fireplace
Texas is relatively warm during the summer, but the cold has no measure when winter. Thus, Chip and Joanna ensured they made the necessary plans to get warm in the cold weather.

A Fireplace
The original fireplace in the farmhouse was kept intact but just with a few changes and its areas. From the look of things, it turned out perfectly well.
A Garden
With the greenhouse already in place, the family needed another green space to create this lovely garden. Joanna, with her fine touches, showed us the family has a love for nature.

A Garden
The little garden is designed with beauty in mind, and the fence to keep intruders out has also given it a perfect finish. Besides, fencing is a great art and fun for the kids.
Fun Kitchen
The kitchen was created as a space for the family to bond and is certainly in line with decor with the rest of the house. To add to the fun, the sign “supermarket” makes the whole experience more blissful.

The kitchen was designed in a way to create a fun experience while remaining functional at all times. For sure, everything is intact, especially with the fact that everywhere is clean and spotless.
A Spot For Everything
Everything in the home has its own space, and Chip and Joanna have ensured they made this possible. This is one of the main reasons everything throughout the house is in sync. Everything has a home in this little home.

A Spot For Everything
What the couple did was to ensure to create an atmosphere for the kids to understand the importance of making sure everything is intact and well organized.
Large Play Area

The complete flow of every room in the house and even the outdoors says a lot about the amazing work they have put in. Based on the final results, we can safely say Chip and Joanna are renovation gurus.
Selling, Perhaps?
Seeing the Gaines family is always expanding with each passing year, one would want to think whether they would ever opt to sell the home and property to get something bigger.

Selling Perhaps
For now, the Gaines family is happy the way things are and probably has no intention of selling the house. They desire to have their kids grow up in this home and as much as Chip and Joanna love it, so do the children.
