Nobody Could Beat Them
Not only does the little tardigrade mimic a stuffed toy (thus the moniker “water bear”), these animals are also regarded as the best and greatest sleepers on the planet. To start with, these organisms can live in almost any environment. These animals have been found on top of the Himalayas and in an abyss where sunlight couldn’t even penetrate. But that is not all! In the lack of nourishment, a tardigrade can shrivel and slow down its metabolic system to a rate that no other creature on earth could even survive on. What is even more amazing is that as research and tests are being conducted on these animals, we are unfolding a never-ending span of discoveries that adds to their awesomeness.
