They spend their nights in communal tunnels excavated by consisting of numbers reaching 40 per pod. they do this for various reasons and the top two of these reasons are for the cold and for protection from predators. many of you might ask, “why do meerkats need to keep warm? isn’t Africa a very hot place?” well that is true in the daytime but during the evening, the African plains are freezing.

Frogs can be a bit mysterious at times. they are so secretive and we have questions for them based on the season especially winter like where do they hide during the frozen times? but this actually opens up a very amazing world into the life of amphibians like frogs. basically, during the winter times, the frogs’ bodies take on an amazing process where they are actually able to stop their hearts from beating. so during the entire time that lakes, ponds, rivers, and marshes are frozen, they are just there hanging out frozen.
