Mir Mine

South Africa has Kimberly’s Big Hole and The Siberian Tundra has Mir Mines Big Hole. The Mir Mine is the largest excavated mine in the world and became so because in 1995 geologists discovered some intriguing diamond deposits. The huge hole can be found in the Siberian region of Eastern Russia. This drone picture is quite scary and it runs a staggering 1700 feet and is renowned for being one of the biggest excavated holes in the world, but I certainly won’t be keen to take a tour, even if it was allowed. The area was first introduced as a diamond mine in the late 1950s and it looks like an entrance to hell.
