Based on the manufacturers’ advice, a Boeing 727 needs to be thoroughly cleaned (the outside areas) at least once every two years. An very important factor to note is that the engines can only be reached by the ladder and the aircraft’s upper regions. The reality is that it can be a dangerous task to clean them as the workers would have to be mindful of slippages while operating the power hose. So, the truth of the matter was that cleaning Campbell’s home was high risk – but one worth taking!
