Technological advancements are highly progressing, and no situation can be categorized as impossible. Architects and engineers can come up with unique designs that are limited to the dreams of a decade ago. The trend of building gigantic structures on the water bodies has enabled us to get an entirely different version of real estate that the builders will explore in their ways. In this blog, we will discuss a few locations that are exemplary in terms of architecture and the use of advanced technology. Now, without any further adieu, we will dive right into the blog.
Antiroom Ⅱ
The project was designed by a team of three architects, Ahmad El Mad, Elena Chiavi, and Matteo G. Located in Malta, the project focuses on conceptualizing the idea of time and space. The white space is floating on the water, and the design is projected to resemble the clouds floating in the sky. If you are planning to visit it, you must be aware that the only way to get there is by swimming or taking a boat.
Mar Adentro
A majority of people are always out and about to find an isolated place where they can go and chill in calmness. This Mexican architecture offers just that more. San Miguel is the designer behind the Mar Adentro project, and the architecture has focused on the monolithic form where it can integrate the interior and exterior design well. The landscape offers an excellent aesthetic, and water use is significant in the design process.
NYC Waterfalls
The project was built on the East River, and prominent architect Olafur Eliasson designed the unique piece of architecture. The Waterfalls carry an art display on the Brooklyn Bridge of East River. It is also a medium to portray the significance of our natural resources and how we must not be so ignorant in preserving them.
Teshima Museum
One of the unique architectures ever witnessed in Japan. Rei Nato and Ryue Nishizawa design the Teshima Art Museum. A significant part of the designing process is said to have its inspiration from water, and the location is also highly strategic, which is right above a gigantic water reservoir. This architectural marvel was completed in 2010, and visitors were quite astonished to experience the presence of two elliptical features under one concrete structure.
The Moses Bridge
All of us have a fixed picture in our minds regarding bridges. These structures are generally raised from the ground and used to cross an otherwise tricky section. The Moses Bridge redefines the vision, and you can call it an invisible bridge. It is located in the Netherlands, and the architect behind this unique design is the RO&AD Architecten team. The area where the bridge is situated comes with the problem of flooding, and it is built using EPDM foils and wood. The bridge is only for pedestrians as it’s a narrow passage below the water levels.
The Infinite Bridge
The project is located in Denmark, where the bridge is built with a circular infinity design on the water. The panoramic view comes with a unique experience that offers visitors a sense of connection to nature and its resources. The Infinite Bridge was designed by Gjøde & Povlsgaard and is located at the end of a river that is coming deep down from the forest.
