Padlocks don’t generally have holes at the bottom as manufacturers are probably trying to “spare materials,” but it is no mistake as they are meant to be there when you see them there. Many people have contradicting thoughts about these holes, but they come in handy to get and keep water out of the locks. Bear in mind, a lot of padlocks stay outside and are made to go through different weather conditions. If water happens to store up in the padlock, it will make it rust easily and damage it sooner than it ought to be.
