Whenever that intercom comes on in the store, we’re so used to being confused by the announcements that we just don’t pay much attention to the voice anymore. Jana, a member of staff at IKEA shared a bit of insight with Mental Floss during her interview about the term “Code 22” saying that, “This meant that the queues at the cash registers were filling up the warehouse area and anybody with register training needed to go help out in the front of the store.”
