Meerkats are the snuggling champions of the animal world. They spend their nights in communal tunnels excavated by consisting of numbers reaching 40 per pod. they do this for various reasons and the top two of these reasons are for the cold and for protection from predators. many of you might ask, “why do meerkats need to keep warm? isn’t Africa a very hot place?” well that is true in the daytime but during the evening, the African plains are freezing.
