Winter Sports
Winter sports are popular in cold countries where it snows all the time, particularly skiing, snowboarding, snow dog racing, and ice fishing. One must really have a love for the sport to venture out in freezing temperatures. This picture captured by Jacek Deneka shows us the Big Piastow Ski racing festival, which takes place annually in the region and brings in competitors from far and wide. Athletes from all over the Nordic Region come together to race for a position on the winning podium. Watching the race from ground level is some adrenaline-inducing, but watching from the sky is a whole new experience altogether. We can’t imagine the adrenaline rush the racers must experience but it must be quite something.
