Water Lilies
This image showcased Vietnam’s natural beauty yet again, this time pointing out the precious water lilies. The water lilies found in this area, the Mekong Delta, are usually white but some bright pink ones are planted for economic gain, the pink water lilies also boast an amazing bright color as we can well see in this image. The reason for planting the pink ones is not only for economic gain but there has been an increase in the demand from consumers for it as well. Therefore the farmers have continued to plant and harvest the pink variant along with the white. The pinks ones are more attractive and sell well to the many tourists that visit the area, and this makes the region a unique selling point for these lilies.

This image looks like a modern piece of art but it’s simply a picture of individuals standing in a schoolyard in the sunshine and the drone captured the image at the perfect angle making everyone look like giants. I guess this shot was either very good luck or it must have taken a fair bit of planning. Everyone in the picture appears to be larger than life and some of them look a lot like shadow monsters. The photographer Tomas Van Houtryve captured managed to capture the image at the perfect angle that’s why we are able to see each person’s shadow so clearly. The photographer also managed to capture the sentiments of the cliques shown in the hit movie The Breakfast Club. The picture itself could be a study about how people socialize in various groups and how school children group themselves on the playground.
