Iman is an American-Somalian model who was discovered by Peter Beard, a famous photographer who inspired Iman to come to America. Iman was born Zara Mohammed Abdulmajid, and a year after traveling to the U.S., she landed her first major modeling contract with Vogue, where she graced the magazine’s cover in one of their editions. Iman described herself as a “regular Somalian woman” who didn’t see anything so special about her. However, the fashion world was seeing a magnificently beautiful and artistic figure like no other. Her humility with her talent landed her numerous modeling contracts with popular designers like Calvin Klein, Versace, Donna Karen, and a whole lot more. Yves Saint-Lauren even described Iman as the woman of his dreams.
