Feigned Effort
Here’s another comedian, but we’ll admit that this one is kind of funny. The dumper sets up the joke and then uses the punchline to dump the other person. They likely weren’t laughing, but a little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down. In this case, the medicine is a breakup, which is the antidote to a toxic situation. Maybe in the future, they’ll look back on this and laugh as friends… maybe not.
